Region 1 CDC

Written projects will be judged using only a digital copy of the project. No video presentation is required at the regional level. Projects must be submitted to the coordinator by Jan 15. Penalty Points will be scored. Portfolio folders are not required. Please read over this carefully for all the changes due to Virtual Conference. 1. Initial DECA dues are due by November 15 to National DECA on line. National $8, State $4(Students) $5(Advisors), Region $2. Additional members for the Regional competition can be added until January 13, 2020 2. The conference judging for all Regions is Wednesday, January 27, 2021-February 3, 2021. All Testing and videos are due prior to that date. 3. Registration for 2020-21 RCDC student is only $15 to cover the cost of KY Fee and Awards. All Advisors will be $25. Include any regional officers in your student totals. Officers will receive a credit for their registration fee. Any student submitting a video will need to include an email address in their registration. 4. Blue Panda registration deadline is January 10, 2021. Gobluepanda.com ALL events must register on the regional level to be eligible for state competition. Contact Jeremy.davis@ky-deca.org for assistance. Late registration is from January 11 to January 13, 2021. There is a late registration fee of $5 per participant for any new students and/or events registered between January 11-13. Only Officer applications, Scholarship applications, KY testing Events, Principles, or Individual Series Events may be submitted as a new event from Jan 11-13. From January 13 until January 27 only Four (4) substitutions per chapter will be allowed. No new events may be entered during that time. TDM events must maintain at least one original member. TDM ‘s left without a partner will be entered into the Individual Series with the same test area. Make checks payable to your REGION ___DECA and send to Jayne Harris (Regions 1, 2, & 3-270.871.9074) or Jamie Rollins (Region 4 & 5-724.584.8518) along with the following: Participation Summary page by January 20, 2021. Please call if there are problems. 5. All written project events and KY events that require a Summary are due electronically to your coordinator by January 15. (No late entries accepted) TDM scenarios sent out. The testing window is January 18-25. All events with a test will be tested on-line at your school prior to Regionals. Name and email address of Proctor must be sent to Jeremy Davis by January 15. KY E-Commerce entries registered must be ready to be judged by January 15. Please submit the web address form located in KY DECA Handbook by January 10. Those registered in any Written event, Team Decision Making, Prepared Business Presentation, Electronic Advertising, and Professional Selling and Financial Consulting events must submit their 15-minute video by January 25 to your conference coordinator. Instructions will follow to verify what program to use for submitting the videos to your respective coordinator. Job Interview will be conducted virtually beginning on January 27. You will be contacted at least one day prior to an interview with the link and time. 6. Officer applicants’ Application/ Responsibilities/Video and Scholarship (if applicable) Application/Documents required are due to the Coordinator by January 15. 7. There will be no refunds after January 13 by Region DECA for those who do not participate in the conference once they are registered. 8. Each school will have access to names and a video of each of the candidates running for office. Watch your email for instructions to access these. Please have your delegates view their information and submit your delegates’ votes to Jayne Harris (Region 1 2, & 3) /Jaime Rollins ( Region 4 & 5) by January 27. A virtual opening session may be streamed beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the opening day of the conference, January 27. More information to follow. Awards and winners will be posted within one week following your conference date. Watch for an email regarding a possible virtual award session by Feb 10. Trophies and awards will be shipped directly to your school. We are doing our best to conduct a conference in the fairest and safest way possible. We are depending on the integrity of all of our DECA members to make this possible. Please watch for updates as they are sent out.
